Neighborhoods First Fund Announces Grants of $1.42M to New York Housing Justice Organizations 

Kornfeld Foundation partner, Neighborhoods First Fund (NFF), announces grants of $1.42M in 2024 to support organizations leading efforts for housing justice in New York. This includes grants to thirteen neighborhood-based grassroots organizations and eight citywide and statewide organizations and coalitions.

Current grantees are working to prevent evictions, preserve public housing, advocate for equitable and inclusive development, and engage marginalized communities in policy and decision making. The newly funded 2024 organizations bring a strong focus on strengthening community land trusts and emerging organizations, advocating for migrant housing, and promoting geographic equity.

NFF works as a collaborative fund where members participate in grantmaking decisions under an agreement with the New York Foundation. 2024 members of NFF include Altman Foundation, Deutsche Bank, Ford Foundation, Kornfeld Foundation, Mertz Gilmore Foundation, M&T Bank, New York Community Trust, New York Foundation, Oak Foundation, Scherman Foundation, Surdna Foundation, and Trinity Church Wall Street.
